Long Range Forecast: 'Cars 2' and 'Bad Teacher'

Featured Stories - on April 30, 2011 by Phil Contrino

forecast43011.pngWe've added Cars 2 and Bad Teacher to our Long Range Forecast this week. Both films are scheduled to hit theaters on June 24.

Cars 2 can't miss. The property has maintained its popularity since the 2006 original thanks to billions of dollars in merchandising. While all Disney/Pixar collaborations can be defined as four-quadrant hits, Cars 2 is bound to skew a little bit more male than the rest.

Bad Teacher star Cameron Diaz doesn't have a lot of luck when it comes to raunchy comedies aimed at females. 2002's The Sweetest Thing was a critical and commerical disaster, and she probably won't have much more luck this time. By the time Bad Teacher rolls around audiences will already have received their fix of raunch from Bridesmaids and The Hangover Part II.
